Talking about Jane
The Rivers family were very surprised when Jane came to their house. Work in groups of three and pretend you are Mary, Diana and St John. Talk to each other about Jane. Here are some of the things you might discuss: Who is she? Where has she come from? Why is she alone? Why did she come to this house? Compare your questions and answers with other groups. For example: Do you think that she’s running away? Maybe she wants to start a new life.
